May Favorites: Beauty Edition

I've decided to switch things up a bit and post my monthly favorites instead of a wish list.

At the end of each month, I'll post about my favorite new (sometimes old) products and let you know where to pick them up!  The upside: I've actually used these products and know they're good (I'm not just saying "hey, this looks cool and I wanna buy it!").

For my first monthly favorites series, I'm sticking to a single theme--beauty products. They're really the only thing I've purchased recently and I feel like they're the most fitting for the subject.  It's so hard to find beauty products and I rarely ever purchase them without reading reviews first.  So here are my favorites for May!

Click the button below to go to Mavatar and view/buy these products!

Brow Pencil:  Before purchasing this one, I was using a MAC pencil and the little plastic sample mascara wands they hand out.  I'm convinced that I was making my eyebrows even thinner with that method.  The lady who recommended this pencil to me is my eyebrow lifesaver. There are so many color options and the Caramel color matches my eyebrows perfectly.  It stays on all day, and the thin pencil and soft spoolie keep your brows looking natural.

Nail Polish: This is the perfect summer color.  I love pale, pastel colors and the color orange is growing on me.  This specific color is Essie's "Resort Fling," but I linked a similar color on Mavatar because this one was unavailable online.

Hand Cream: My hands aren't really dry, but my cuticles are.  I may possibly have the worst cuticles, ever, actually.  This is the first hand cream to actually reduce that problem.  It hasn't saved my cuticles completely, but it has helped. (Plus my hands are super, super soft now).

Cuticle Serum: Putting an official end to the dry cuticles issue, is this lovely little thing. It was in my very first Julep Maven box that came last week.  I haven't been using it long enough to completely stand by it, but I can already see a difference in my cuticles.  I'll get back to you on this one, but I wanted to include it in my favorites anyway!

Lip Balm: Dry cuticals? Yes. Dry lips? Also, yes. It's a terrible situation, I know.  I was ashamed of how much I spent on this, but it does hydrate my lips really well and it has SPF.  For someone who constantly has dry lips AND burns them all the time, you can't get any better than this. (Although I am looking for other options still--if anyone has a recommendation!)

What are your favorite beauty products?

  10. I've been wanting to try the Sugar lip balm for such a long time! It's always staring me in the face at Sephora, but I agree with you, the price tag is daunting.

  17. I was between, like, three similar colors of nail polish--it was kind of ridiculous. But I love how Essie has so many different options!

  18. I love how many color options there are! They stay on really well, too. It's just a pain that some of the colors are so much more sheer than you would expect.

  19. It works pretty well! It says you can use it while you're wearing nail polish, too; but I personally think it's making my polish lift around my cuticles faster than usual.

  20. I think it took me three trips to actually buy it! Compared to everything else I've tried, though, I think it's worth the price.
