My Favorite Thanksgiving Desserts (& The Problem with Black Friday)

I love Thanksgiving. It's one of my favorite holidays, it always has been.

I'm actually a big of holidays in general. Oh--and food.

But Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I'm headed home tonight, and I'm super excited! It's been a while since I've seen everyone.

And the weather is supposed to actually be nice and cool/cold. Talk about perfect timing.

I haven't decided yet, but I kind of want to make something to bring to dinner tomorrow. I only like to make desserts and I was looking through Pinterest, so I obviously found a few things I wanted to try. (That's an understatement).

But here are my favorites:

Easy Mini Pumpkin Cinnamon Roles

Crack Pie (which sadly seems very complicated...)

I'm leaning toward the pumpkin snickerdoodles, but we'll see what happens.

While I'm writing about Thanksgiving and just saw a commercial for Black Friday sales, I want to talk about Black Friday.

Why are stores opening at 5pm on Thanksgiving?

That is NOT Friday.

Are we confused? Do they need a Calendar? I'll gladly bring them one. (Maybe a giant one with Friday circled 100 times in red).

Beyond the fact that stores are opening on Thursday (which is Thanksgiving, in case people forgot) one in particular is closing at 1am on Friday. They are only open for an hour for Black Friday.

Um, what?

How about you give your employees Thanksgiving off (you know, cause it's Thanksgiving), and then actually have your Black Friday sales on Friday (because, obviously).

This whole new schedule makes everyone crazier than they were before; ruins the fun for the people who don't go early because they want to spend time with their family; and most importantly, it ruins Thanksgiving for the employees who don't actually get to spend time with their family.

I don't even think I'm going to bother going.

What do you think? About food or Black Friday?
