Simple & Quick Green Smoothie

So one day way-back-when (like, a month ago), I said I was going to make a post about green smoothies. While there are literally hundreds of recipes I could talk about, I decided to share my favorite go-to for when I'm in a hurry before going to class in the mornings.

The best part? It's only four ingredients:banana, spinach, almond milk, and water!

You're probably thinking that it sounds really gross and I don't blame you. My roommate made that face at me yesterday morning while I was making it.

But I promise that if you like bananas, you'll love it! And you can't even taste the spinach, so it's a win-win.

My most important advice for making this smoothie super fast? Use a mason jar instead of the entire blender. Most blenders are made where the blade can be detached from the pitcher; and if it's the typical narrow-based, round blenders, then it will fit perfectly on a mason jar. This way, you're making the smoothie straight in what you're going to drink it out of!

I don't actually measure anything, but here is an idea of what it looks like:

1. Throw in 1 frozen banana (peel & break it up before freezing it).
2. Fill the rest of the jar with a handful of spinach.
3. Add a little bit of almond milk (fill the jar about an inch).
4. Fill the jar halfway with water.

If it's too banana-y for you (which sometimes it is), I like to throw in some strawberries or blueberries to add other flavors. And if it isn't blending enough, just add more water--sometimes it needs more depending on how much spinach you use.

I'll try some more elaborate recipes soon and post about it!
